Jim Reed is a detective whose work is spilling over into his home and family life with worrying effect.
He has become too involved in a child abuse case in which he has tried to place himself in the mind of the suspect. The experiment causes him to feel increasingly uncomfortable with both his, and his father’s, relationship with his two young sons. The situation worsens when a hypnotist crucial to the investigation throws suspicion on Reed’s own past, and sheds light on the barriers between him and his father. The truth is finally revealed when Reed decides to be hypnotised for the benefit of the case and to investigate his own memories.
