Love In The 21st Century

image

A savagely comic exploration of sex and love in the 21st Century. This series of six morality tales takes an honest look at the trials and tribulations of falling in love.

Firmly rooted in the real world, these are no fairytale romances but stories of real women trying and failing to find a decent man. Each episode has a different cast and takes a humorous look at sex, love and relationships from the perspective of a different woman, all with a twist in the tale. Best friends who fall out over a shared lover, a bored teacher and a lusty teenager, a married couple who decide to spice up their sex life are just some of the characters in this darkly comic series...

Reproduction

Fay is single. All her family have babies and the pressure is on to reproduce. One problem, though she has no man. Determined to create that baby, she goes out on the chase, picking men up, freezing their sperm and debating who has the best character to be the father of her child. But in a sudden moment of clarity, she realises what a fool she’s being. But is it already too late? Reproduction spotlights film star Catherine McCormack (Brave Heart, Land Girls, Dangerous Beauty) as Fay.

Commitment

Ellie is 30 years old and has been with Nick for five years. She is beautiful, funny and brilliant. The only thing lacking is commitment from Nick. We meet them at the altar – and Ellie tells the story of how she manages to finally get him to walk up the aisle. But will he say I do?

Masturbation

Amanda and Jack are a happily married couple. They have a very close group of friends, including Rob and Claire. One day, Amanda comes home to find Jack masturbating and is shocked and hurt – only to find that everyone else finds it highly amusing. But she is left with the worry that Jack may be having an affair. She turns to Claire for support but is she a source of comfort – or her rival?

Fantasies

A role-playing game gets out of hand when Sean and Anna decide to spice up their sex life. Anna confesses that her secret desire is to be tied up and tormented in an abandoned station. They go for a trial run and are interrupted by some boys. The next night they try again, but when Sean is unexpectedly delayed, Anna has an unpleasant encounter.

Threesomes

Louise partakes in a sleep deprivation experiment, and ends up sleeping with scientist Charlie. But when she introduces him to best friend Kate, things start to go wrong. One night Kate herself partakes in the same experiment and confesses her secret passion for Charlie. They become lovers, but when she finally confronts Louise with the truth, Charlie ridicules them both. A modern menage á trois.

Toyboys

Sarah is an art teacher, married to Alex and caught up in the mundane activities of day to day living. Ryan is 15, gorgeous, clever, sexy – and he knows it. One day he seduces Sarah in the stock room. But on the school camping trip things go horribly wrong for Sarah when she discovers her toyboy in bed with another teacher.
