How one man succeeded where so many others failed

The Pacific Ocean is 8500 miles wide and one of the most dangerous stretches of water in the world. One person has died and many others have been injured trying, but no one has ever succeeded in crossing this treacherous ocean alone in a boat... until 2001, when an unlikely hero surprised the world by completing the journey in a 23ft-long boat in almost nine months. Arthritic, 50-something, English businessman, Jim Shekhdar, somehow managed to brave sharks, hurricanes and supertankers to complete the trip from Peru to Australia. This unique film, shot by Shekhdar while braving the ocean, shows how he succeeded where so many others failed.
