Black Panthers

image

In 1970 David Rice, Edward Poindexter and Geronimo Pratt were all leading members of the Black Panthers, the leading black civil rights movement in the United States.

By 1972 all three were serving life sentences for murder; Pratt for the so-called ‘tennis court murder’, the others for a bombing in Omaha. All three are still in jail today, with little hope of release, and all three still protest their innocence. Black Panthers investigates their cases and reveals forensic and eyewitness evidence that would seem to prove their innocence. More importantly, the film uncovers information that points to an FBI and police conspiracy to frame the three men in a drive to destroy the Black Panthers movement.
