It’s the craziest and most spectacular course ever created. Played by the greatest pro-celebrity fours ever seen in prime time entertainment television.
Imagine playing 'The Mall' or 'Tower Bridge' finishing at 'Trafalgar Square' in front of the packed galleries. The stars play for their favourite charities over the 9 holes. Not all the holes are about par, bogies and eagles, some are special chalenges of accuracy, power or distance.
As the fours travel around the city in their buggies, the emphasis is on entertainment and competition. This is sport for a mass audience in prime time. The event is mad, full of 'they aren't going to do that?' moments.
The rules are broadly match play; each celebrity is paired with a professional. 2 pairs from opposing teams play in a foursome. At the end of each hole, once both fours have played, the team with the least strokes takes the point, in the even of a draw, the hole is 'halved' and the cash split.
Each hole is played for £10,000 and the overall winner receives a bonus of a £100,000 donation across the four charities. It is proposed that each hole is sponsored.
