More trials and tributlations of a C-grade celebrity struggling to find her place in the media world.
Jaquie Brown is hungry for fame and prepared to do whatever it takes to get there but she is constantly thwarted by her slightly prettier, slightly funnier and vastly more popular nemesis ‘Serita Singh.’
This second series offers a more significant narrative arc to keep viewers hooked over the course of the season, as Jaquie is cast out from the comfy confines of her regular network slot and struggles to revive her career in the celebrity wasteland of corporate radio and reality television.
Since losing her job on McHuntly at 7 for trying to get Serita fired, Jaquie has hit rock bottom.
Her and Tom have traded their Cox’s bay dream home for a crappy inner city apartment and she has been whoring her celebrity status to a carpet factory to pay the bills. Meanwhile Serita has gone on to become one of TV3’s most valued assets, has her own show coming out and a top ten single.
Jaquie’s only chance to climb back up the media ladder is a co-hosting gig in midday radio show with the equally bitter and even more disgruntled James Coleman. Working with James is a nightmare and Jaquie is desperate to get back on TV, but even with the help of friend and publicist Kim Sharee, the opportunities seem few and far between.
