Javar, a Pakistani Law student, finds himself in the middle of an ongoing taxi fraud affecting his career and endangering his life.
Javar is a striving Norwegian-Pakistani law student. He lives a double life, on the one side an urban citizen in Oslo, with a Norwegian girlfriend – on the other he has to be a good son to his conservative Pakistani family. To be able to do this he is forced to create a set of lies and creative solutions, to keep everybody happy.
Javar barely manages to keep these two realities in balance. But he gets in trouble when he suddenly gets his hand on evidence of a fraud including more than 50 taxi owners and a large amount of money - millions. It does not get better when he realizes that a highly respected accountant and a pillar of society have contributed to the fraud. All of a sudden Javar is forced to navigate through the backstreets of the city, without being seen. His only way out of trouble is to make the public aware about the corrupt taxidrivers internal affairs. But it’s not easy to identify who the enemies are. He never knows who he can trust.
Both Javar and his loved ones are threatened by powerful people, who won’t stop at anything to stop evidence from leaking out. People who have built their lives and statuses on the money from the fraud, and for any price won’t lose face.
