Where two worlds collide
I’ve Got the Power is a new format where 8 youths from different backgrounds invite a high-profile politician into their home – for 24 hours.
The politician will spend the day shadowing the young person’s every move, whether they are going to a concert, watching a football game or just hanging out on the streets and they will stay overnight – either sleeping in a bunk bed, on a sofa or maybe the invitee may give up their bed.
They will discuss topical issues that affect the young person, varying from education, immigration or healthcare, giving the youth a chance to express their opinion on what matters to them; The idea is to give a voice – and a forum – for young people to be heard. Why their parents might need to work three jobs or why the grading system in school has to change or maybe they´ll share tips on how to get an apartment, a summer job maybe even their job!
This is a show about both the big issues and the small things – but mostly, it´s a meeting between two individuals that would never happen in real life.
