New behaviours in unchanging lands

Africa – a savage continent, home to herds of majestic animals and legendary predators. In this action packed and entertaining three-part series we dissect the lives of Africa’s iconic predatory animals in order to understand their every move in detail – how they hunt, how they eat, how they live, think and interact with others. Episode one focuses on two lion prides, episode twoon leopards, following mothers and their cubs, and the final hour features both wild dogs and cheetahs. We reveal the latest research findings that bring our understanding of predators and prey into the 21st century. Although large parts of Africa’s wilderness expanses are vanishing, there are some isolated enclaves that stand highly protected and well guarded: in the Luangwa Valley, the Kruger National Park and the Kalahari Desert, Africa’s best known animals continue an existence forged in time.
