Episode 1

When an armed robbery at a convenience store reveals a renowned cop killer is back in Sydney, Detective Sergeant Grace Gibbs (Rachel Griffiths) has the chance to finally catch her colleague’s murderer.

Detective Grace Gibbs (Rachel Griffiths) is determined to catch notorious killer and armed robber, Corey Baxter (Ian Meadows) who murdered her junior officer a year ago. Grace has been left guilt-ridden and angry, her marriage in tatters, her career in jeopardy and in enforced anger-management at her inner-city cop shop. When Baxter returns to hold up a convenience store, Grace meets the shop assistant, Mani Dalir (Mojean Aria), an Iranian international student who has been terrorized by Baxter but has luckily escaped his bullet. Although clearly shaken, Mani is determined not to let Corey’s violent treatment of him get in the way of his dream of a happy future in Australia with his Chinese girlfriend, Bo-Lin (Xana Tang).

As Grace begins to track Baxter, her short fuse is tested when she’s allocated a junior detective to train – Charlie Fung (Yoson An). Charlie was a close friend of Lincoln’s (Lincoln Younes) and blames Grace for Lincoln’s death, so their partnership is off to a terrible start.  Meanwhile, across town, Mani’s corrupt bosses conspire to buy a gun to protect their business.  When the store is robbed again, this time with fatal consequences, Grace and Charlie discover that Corey Baxter may not be the only killer at large in the city …

Episode 2

The more Mani (Mojean Aria) insists he is guilty of Tony Hodge’s (Simon Burke) murder, the more holes Grace (Rachel Griffiths) and Charlie (Yoson An) find in his story, leading them to a shocking discovery…

When Mani (Mojean Aria) confesses to murdering his boss, Grace (Rachel Griffiths) is under pressure to charge him quickly.  However, as Grace and Charlie (Yoson An) start unpacking his recollection of events, they begin to suspect Mani may be covering for someone – but who, and why?  When Grace discovers ten thousand dollars cash hidden amongst Mani’s supposedly broke housemates’ belongings, it becomes obvious someone in the student share house is leading a secret life.

Meanwhile, Grace’s continued pursuit of Corey Baxter (Ian Meadows) reveals a horrifying recent history of kidnapping and assaulting young women.  When forensic evidence suggests that two other people, apart from Mani, were present at the convenience store at the time of Tony’s (Simon Burke) death, Grace and Charlie are left wondering if the seemingly separate lines of investigation they are chasing are somehow connected ...

Episode 3

As Grace (Rachel Griffiths) and Charlie (Yoson An) close in on Tony’s (Simon Burke) murderer, Bo-Lin (Xana Tang) looks she may be caught up in a dangerous crime syndicate and Corey Baxter (Ian Meadows) kidnaps another victim…

Grace (Rachel Griffiths) and Charlie (Yoson An) delve deeper into the secret life of Bo-Lin (Xana Tang), discovering she has developed a habit that had spiraled out of control, making her vulnerable prey for organized crime figures.  At a dead-end in her pursuit of Bo-Lin, Grace cuts police red tape, coming at a devastating personal – and potentially, professional – cost.  Frustrated with Grace and Charlie’s perceived inaction, Mani (Mojean Aria) takes matters into his own hands and searches for Bo-Lin himself, putting his own life at risk.

Meanwhile, Corey Baxter (Ian Meadows) torments his new prisoner … but as Grace and Charlie discover, Corey’s new play-thing is being held under false pretenses, hiding a dark family secret.  Will Grace and Charlie be able to rescue Corey’s latest victim before it’s too late?

Episode 4

As Grace (Rachel Griffiths) closes in on Corey Baxter (Ian Meadows), she makes a terrible discovery that could destroy her unlikely friendship with Charlie (Yoson An).

As Grace (Rachel Griffiths) and Charlie (Yoson An) investigate their second murder in a week, they come to blows over which course to take. Despite all the physical evidence pointing to Corey Baxter (Ian Meadows) being involved, Grace can’t ignore her intuition.  Something doesn’t add up and she’s not sure why.

Meanwhile, Corey Baxter races towards the Queensland border, with Claire (Brooke Satchwell) and her son as hostages. Desperate to escape, Claire hatches a plan to bring Corey to his knees.  Despite Charlie’s frustrations, Grace continues on her independent line of investigation, making a shocking discovery that Charlie refuses to hear.  As word gets out Corey has held up a petrol station north of the city, Grace’s instinct speaks again, telling her it’s a decoy. With tension between them at an all-time high, Grace and Charlie go against orders and follow their gut.

Will they finally go head-to-head with the killer who has eluded them for so long?
