Episode 1
Elderly Timmy, a Collie cross, is discovered in a house surrounded by his own mess left with a huge painful tumour on his face but inspector Anthony Joynes refuses to give up on him. Inspector Helen Smith has her work cut out when she meets Archie, a stroppy Shih-Tzu that has become so matted, he can barely see or hear. What issues lurk underneath his heavy coat, and will he cheer up after a much-needed haircut. Dumped in a cardboard box, Inspector Simon Evans pays a visit to two French Bulldog puppies that were found in Pontypool Park in Wales. Yoda and Mogwai are really lacking confidence, but what will the future hold for these two ugly puplings?
Episode 2
Inspector Helen Smith saves Turner and Hooch, two Dogue de Bordeauxs found abandoned in a garden. But is it just food and water that these bony brothers need or could something else be wrong? Inspector Becky Bedson sets off to track down a dog that was spotted stranded in a flood relief channel. It’s a freezing day so she needs to act fast and, with very little information to go on, the pressure starts to mount, but Becky won’t give up. Shih Tzu Olive was found on a building site, heavily matted and in pain. See what a difference a bit of TLC, and a lot of love, can make. And meet Pepper, the Dalmatian stealing hearts across Merseyside.
Episode 3
In this episode, the RSPCA are called to the aid of elderly crossbreed, Ben. Although Anthony Joynes has been told that Ben is riddled with fleas, the sight that awaits him is enough to shock even an experienced inspector. But there’s good news for Ben, after being given a complete makeover he goes on to find a new loving home. In Lancashire, a struggling couple must improve their living conditions or face losing their beloved Bichon Frise for good. It’s a big challenge but, luckily, inspector Jason Bowles is there to lend a helping hand. We catch up with familiar face Molly from the last series of The Dog Rescuers. Tensions are high on Valentine’s Day as Cardiologist Chris Linney tries to fix the tiny Terrier’s broken heart. And see the incredible transformation of Zeus, a Dogue de Bordeaux left out with the rubbish who is given a second chance at life with his new owners.
Episode 4
When 18-month-old JD is found tied to a radiator and left without food or water, inspector Anthony Pulfer is desperate to get him to the vet. But the stressed Staffie won’t come quietly. Can Anthony convince JD to warm to his rescuer and get the young dog the help he needs? In Yorkshire, inspector Keira Benham comes to the aid of Ruby, a Jack Russell with a nasty skin condition. Her owner is reluctant to release her to the RSPCA but Keira won’t give up until Ruby gets the help she needs. We meet Ted, the Spaniel rescued from a squalid bedsit who’s hoping to join the ranks of the police. In this episode, Ted embarks upon the first stage of his journey to become a police sniffer dog. But could his dream be over before it’s begun? And see what a difference the right care and attention can make for Rex, a dog so emaciated he was close to death when he was brought into the RSPCA.
Episode 5
Inspector Kate Parker rescues Max, a skinny dog left alone for long periods of time. But it doesn’t take long for this friendly crossbreed to bounce back, and the once-lonely lad is soon settling in well with his new family. We follow the progress of Ellie, a Dogue de Bordeaux left terrified of men after experiencing threatening behaviour at the hands of her previous owner. The team at Preston animal centre work on rebuilding her trust. Inspector Sarah Gardner is faced with a tough decision when she visits a property for the third time to check on dogs Ruby and Jade. Although their owners are taking steps in the right direction, Ruby and Jade still aren’t getting the full care and attention they need. Will Sarah give the owners one more chance or will they have to say goodbye to their dogs for good? And we check in on elderly dog Ollie. Once so arthritic he could barely open his mouth to eat, Ollie is now thriving thanks to the help of inspector Anthony Pulfer and experienced fosterers Liz and Gary.
Episode 6
When footage of a dog being beaten by his owner comes to the attention of the RSPCA, inspector Mel Fisher is straight on the case. It doesn’t take long for her to rescue the young German Shepherd and, while his owner is brought to justice, Zeus goes on to get the happily-ever-after he deserves. In Sunderland, inspector Jaqui Miller has her hands full when three generations of dogs are signed over by their struggling owner, and it looks as though help has arrived just in time for the flea-infested family! We check in on Ted, the Spaniel rescued from a squalid bedsit who’s hoping to join the ranks of the police. In this instalment, Ted is learning to search for drugs. The team are confident after training gets off to a promising start, but things don’t go quite as planned when the rescue Spaniel is introduced to a single substance. It’s back to the drawing board for police dog trainer, Lee Webb. Can he get Ted’s training back on track?
Episode 7
In this episode, inspector Keira Benham fights to save five dogs from a house in South Yorkshire. The malnourished and flea-ridden crossbreeds desperately need to see a vet so, when their owners refuse to give them up, a concerned Keira must enlist the help of the police. A Staffie left tied to some railings is given a second chance at happiness after inspector Anthony Joynes swoops in to save him. Inspector Anthony Pulfer brings Jack Russell Missy into the care of the RSPCA when her owner undergoes a difficult change in circumstances. We check in on the 3-year-old dog in her new home and see her get the love and attention she deserves. And Animal Collection Officer Joe White deals with a very distressing case when he’s called out to an injured dog straying in the street and finds a young Spaniel with a horrific neck wound.
Episode 8
This week, inspector Kate Ford battles to save skinny Staffie cross Brandy. Brandy’s owner says she’s fed regularly but is simply not putting on weight so Kate is desperate to get her seen by a vet, but it’s not going to be an easy task… Lurcher Ella was tied to a fence and abandoned by her owner. When inspector Justin Stubbs found her, she was suffering from fur loss and was so terrified he had to carry her to his van. We check in on the lovely Lurcher at Block Fen RSPCA where the staff are helping her grow in both health and confidence. There’s a new challenge for trainee police dog Ted as he competes against veteran sniffer dogs to search out firearms. How will he fare against the experienced teams? And remember German Shepherd Reo from last year? When inspector Anthony Joynes found her, she was suffering from an ear infection so severe her life was hanging in the balance. But this heart-breaking story has a happy ending and, in this episode, there’s a treat in store for Reo when she’s reunited with her rescuer.
Episode 9
When two dogs are left confined to one room without food or water, inspector Anthony Pulfer is straight on the scene. But, although Sam and Lexi are soon in safe hands, it looks like their problems may just be beginning... We follow the recovery of Snoopy, a young dog found collapsed on the edge of a road. The lurcher was just skin and bones when she was spotted by three members of the public but, luckily, it seems as though help arrived just in time. In Shropshire, inspector Kate Parker comes to the aid of Rocko, a tiny puppy living in unsuitable conditions. And we catch up with Woody, one of four dogs rescued from a ‘house of horrors’ by inspector Anthony Joynes.
Episode 10
A shocking sight awaits inspector Kris Walker when he visits a property and finds Missy, one of the most matted dogs we’ve ever seen on the show. Vet Laura Smith gets straight to work tackling the mats but what exactly will she uncover underneath all that fur? Inspector Keira Benham is concerned when she finds two dogs living in hazardous conditions. Can Rex and Tyson’s owner clean up her act or is it too little too late? And it’s D-day for Ted. Tune in to find out if the rescue Spaniel has what it takes to become a fully-fledged police sniffer dog.

Inspector Lauren Bailey rescues Tiny, a Yorkshire Terrier suffering from severe fur loss. But it looks like Tiny’s skin might not be the only cause for concern… Eight dogs destined for the dinner plate in South Korea are given a second chance at life in the UK. Inspector Anthony Pulfer is called to a crime scene to help out two dogs in need. Will Cassie and Soldier get the happy ending they deserve? And it’s an emotional goodbye when ill health forces an owner to give up her beloved Border Collies.
Episode 12
In Merseyside, inspector Anthony Joynes rescues two Collie crosses with terrible skin conditions. It’s going to be a long road to recovery but, luckily, Tippy and Custard are in the right hands. When a critically ill puppy is found straying on the street, inspector Jaqui Miller is called in to help. The Shih Tzu is dangerously underweight and needs constant care. Does little Nala have the strength to pull through? Inspector Lewis Taylor checks in on Bridget, one of 27 Poodles he rescued from a house in Cornwall. The dogs were being caged in filthy conditions but, thanks to the care and dedication from the staff at RSPCA Brent Knoll, it looks like Bridget is starting to put that life behind her. And remember Rex, the dog so emaciated he was close to death when he was brought into Harmsworth Animal Hospital? Tune in to see him get the happy ending he deserves.
Episode 13
In Liverpool, Animal Welfare Officer Matt Brown rescues two dogs living outside with only a TV cabinet for shelter. And Tia and Arora’s environment isn’t the only cause for concern; the crossbreeds are also very underweight. The pair are soon in safe hands and getting the help they need to recover, but will the young dogs get their happy-ever-after? Three Rottweiler crosses are signed over to the RSPCA after their owner can no longer give them the life they need. It’s a big change for the dogs, and they’re clearly daunted by the experience but, thankfully, the staff at Altham animal centre are on hand to help the three scared sisters. And it’s a first for The Dog Rescuers when we meet Raccoon dog Cedric. Yes, that’s right: Raccoon dog.
