DRG & NRK’s Teenage Boss Sets Up Home in Finland, Denmark, Holland & Spain MIPCOM, Cannes. Wednesday 4 October 2011. DRG confirmed today a slate of significant primetime network commissions and deals for its newly launched NRK Format, ‘Teenage Boss’. The news coincides with the distributor launching all-new NRK Formats ‘My Celebrity Boyfriend’ and ‘Challenge The Masters’, which recently premiered in Norway and achieved an unprecedented 37% of viewers in its Saturday night slot. DRG became NRK Formats exclusive distributor in spring 2011. Andrea Jackson, Managing Director, Acquisitions & Formats at DRG announced the news, “Teenage Boss puts one teen totally in control of the family’s finances for 30 days and we watch the emotion and drama unfold. It’s a really unique format which we’re delighted to confirm will soon be launching with new local versions on Finland’s YLE and Denmark’s DR.” Denmark’s DR has commissioned 6 episodes, produced in-house and their first season will premiere in late spring 2012. Two further deals have been inked with one of Europe’s biggest producers for the format in Holland and separately in Spain. Today’s news coincides with the confirmation by NRK1 that a second season of ?Teenage Boss? will go into production this year, ahead of season one’s premiere on November 9 launch. We are committed to, and will continuously bring the best of Norwegian creativity to the marketplace through our excellent relationship with DRG.” On Monday DRG launched two major new primetime titles from NRK Formats at MIPCOM. ‘Challenge The Masters’, which is titled ‘Quizdan’ in Norway, is the family-fun quiz-show which challenges amateur quizzers against specialist quizmasters, in a fast-paced elimination game of knowledge. ‘Challenge The Masters’ premiered on Saturday 17 September on NRK1, winning a 37% share of audience in its 9-10pm slot. DRG has this week previewed to producers at MIPCOM the hotly anticipated new factual entertainment NRK Format ‘My Celebrity Boyfriend’, which sees an intrepid and sassy journalist testing out the highs and lows of being the other-half of a famous celebrity. The format is set to premiere on NRK3 at 10pm in November.
