Synopsis
In a series of programmes, each featuring a strong-minded ‘sinner’ on the sin of their choice, Kathy Lette – best-selling author and self proclaimed ‘brain-dead mother’ reveals the extent of her envy. Kathy’s hit list includes women unencumbered by children and “television people” with pearly teeth, turbulent love-lives and non-existent toilet habits. Taking a Freudian stroll through the emotion of envy, she dismisses the theory that “the female predilection for jealousy stemmed from penis envy” and supplants it with the fact that impossibly high standards of motherhood have spawned a nation of guilt-tripped Stepford Mums shouldering a conspiracy of silence. A technicolour fantasy of her own design proves, however, that the grass is often greener...
