Synopsis
Is fighter jet technology advancing beyond the biological capacity of pilots? Twenty US fighter pilots have died in combat over the last 10 years due to an inability to cope with extreme levels of G-Force. This documentary examines what happens when technological progress outstrips human physiological endurance. Resolving the problem means tough decisions. Train pilots to withstand even greater G-Forces, or dispense with them altogether? Could future air combat be controlled from the ground via voice-activated commands and virtual reality? Air Force researchers are attempting to take the pilot into another dimension, pushing the human body right to the limit of endurance. If this fails, the next generation may find itself volunteering for desk jobs.
