Synopsis
FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOW is the immensely moving true story of Julie Hill's fight to regain her independence and save her marriage after a catastrophic car accident left her paralysed from the waist down

Struggling to cope with the trauma of hospital rehabilitation, Julie worries about how the accident will affect her marriage and her family. Her anxiety grows as she realises that her husband Kevin has no idea how to cope with her disability. But when Julie fights to become the world's first ever paraplegic to have a revolutionary electronic device implanted into her spine and attached to the nerves which control her leg muscles, Kevin finally comes around, fascinated in spite of himself by all the technology being brought to bear. Then one day the dream comes true. Julie can move her legs.

This is the story of Julie’s will to fight against seemingly overwhelming odds for her life and her family. As a sub-plot it’s also about two pioneering British scientists who achieve success and, in the process, learn to appreciate Julie - the human being who gives meaning to their years of academic research.

Starring Caroline Quentin ( Life Begins, Blue Murder, Men Behaving Badly), Kevin Whately (Inspector Morse, Auf Wiedersen, Pet), Annette Crosbie (One Foot in the Grave), Kerry Fox (Shallow Grave), Phil Davis (Vera Drake). Written by Nigel Williams (Skallagrigg).
