Elvis was one. So were Ronnie and Reggie Kray. Mengele was fascinated by them. All over the world, identical twins are endowed with myth and mystery. But does looking alike mean behaving alike? In the case of Frankie and Freddy Cox, it does. They look, act and dress the same, tour vaudeville theatres like a latter day freak show – and they married identical twins, one of whom tragically died. Mary and Liz, however, are poles apart. One is straight, the other is gay, one gregarious, the other bookish – yet they are incredibly close. When David’s twin brother died, it was like witnessing his own death. A fascinating study of those who “see ourselves as others see us”.
