Somewhere in North Korea a man is secretly filming a poster under a bridge. What the poster says is punishable by death: ‘Bring down Kim Jong-il!’ Inside the last Stalinist dictatorship, an underground opposition is beginning to emerge – and the regime is rattled. Another hidden camera records public executions in front of women and children – for the crime of taking people across the border to China. But who are the dissidents? And how do they operate? Jung-Eun Kim, a young Korean American film-maker, investigates an opposition movement that’s fuelled by the unstoppable technology of cell phones and secret video.
