In Series 3 of Peep show, Mark and Jeremy are forced to deal with intimidating plumbers, mental illness, muggers and the ups, but mostly downs, of casual drug use – in fact all the usual problems of everyday life.
Mark finally manages to start going out with Sophie (Olivia Colman), until – heartbreakingly – she is relocated to Bristol. While Mark struggles to keep their long-distance relationship going via attempted phone sex, Jeremy tries to get over his disastrous marriage to American beauty Nancy by embarking on a series of unwise relationships with his neighbour Toni (Elizabeth Marmur), Mark's sister, and the defendant in a court case.
