Synopsis
Alan Bleasedale presents a poignant tale of childhood in modern Britain. Thirteen-year-old David and ten-year-old Danielle are residents in a children's home.

They are not orphans, but children of disinterested parents and so carry the scars of being unloved and rejected. Soon after Danielle arrives, an unspoken bond develops between them. The home is run by Sarah but despite her efforts and care, David and Danielle find life in the home intolerable. <br/>When David finds a boy dead through an overdose he decides that the only chance he and Danielle have is to run away. They head for the seaside and for the first time we see them enjoying the uninhibited freedom of childhood. But for how long?
