With their constant bickering and wildly contrasting characters, old friends Nigel Farrell and Nippi Singh keep viewers thoroughly entertained as they seek to buy and refurbish a ruined farmhouse in southeast France. They succeed and Nigel wants to stay but he has a problem - he must work. Improbably, he decides to open an Indian restaurant. The second series, by turns hilarious and heart-rending, follows Nigel as he tries to overcome barriers such as a complete lack of knowledge of Indian cuisine, a lack of restaurant experience and a lack of French language. In the brand new third series Nigel's Indian restaurant in the Ardeche region of France has closed leaving Nigel with massive debts. Undaunted, he decides on a new venture, to rent a local farmhouse and offer bespoke bed and breakfast holidays to British tourists. The series follows Nigel in his new enterprise as different guests come to stay in the B&B and as he gets to grips with "the good life" working on the farm.
