Synopsis
Life is complicated and guilt has many sides

This gripping drama follows Juliet (Maxine Peake) through the criminal justice system as she struggles to come to terms with her life after attempting to kill her husband, a respected and powerful barrister at the height of his profession, played by BAFTA winning actor Matthew Macfadyen. To the outside world they are an idyllic family, but behind closed doors all is not what it seems. One night, Juliet finally snaps and stabs Joe. Life will never be the same for the Miller family. Is Juliet capable of a cold-blooded murder, or is she a desperate woman, committing a desperate act to protect herself and her daughter? As with Criminal Justice 1, Peter Moffat has created a masterful study of human behaviour that will have us on the edge of our seats throughout. Press
“As in the first series, Peter Moffat’s script does a brilliantly tantalising job of keeping us in the dark. Where lesser dramas preserve their mystery simply by withholding information, this one (Criminal Justice 2) plays a far more cunning game of constantly undermining what we thought we knew.”
The Telegraph

“...a well-written, superbly acted, boldly scheduled drama is just what the dear old BBC needs as the nights draw in, and in the excellent Criminal Justice, is what it has.”
The Independent

“Criminal Justice has been brilliant: serious, thoughtful, powerful drama that carries on ringing in your head long after the final credits. Drama that makes you think.”
The Guardian
