Whether it’s scaling a sheer rock face in the Scottish Highlands, busting down the door of an illegal ivory trader in Liverpool or prising open a container full to the brim with snakes at Heathrow airport, this is all in a days work for the officers on the frontline of the fight against Wildlife Crime.
In this exciting new, action packed mini-series three major authorities are tasked with catching the criminal gangs who are making millions from this cruel and dangerous activity. In order to combat this ever increasing and highly lucrative crime, a rather extraordinary police unit was set up three years ago to focus solely on catching the criminal gangs involved in wildlife trade. The National Wildlife Crime Unit based in Livingston, West Lothian, co-ordinates the
entire UK effort to stop the fourth most profitable crime in the world: wildlife crime.
