Synopsis

Wedding bells are ringing as Martin Clunes returns to Cornwall to play the nation’s favourite grumpy medic in the sixth season of Doc Martin.

Martin Clunes reprises his role as Dr.Martin Ellingham, the GP with a brusque bedside manner and a phobia of blood, in eight new episodes of the enormously successful drama produced by Buffalo Pictures and set in the idyllic hamlet of Portwenn.

All the regular members of the cast return along with some brand new faces, for this popular series, filmed in the picturesque North Cornwall village of Port Isaac.

Doc Martin season 6 premiered on ITV (UK) on Monday 2nd September 2013 at 9pm. The premiere episode achieved an incredible peak audience of 9.2 million, and a 35% market share.

Over the course of the eight episode season, Doc Martin saw a peak average audience of 8.4 million and a peak share of 32%. This easily exceeded the channel slot average which sits at 3.2 million and 14% share.

The season also increased substantially on the benchmark figures for age, gender and socio-economic demographics.

Doc Martin was the number 1 rated programme against all channels for all episodes broadcast.
