Synopsis
The complex relationship between violent behviour and creative responsibility

When Arthur Upfield, one of Australia’s most successful novelists, created a highly original plot for one of his first novels, he didn’t anticipate the outcome of his writing. His trapper friend Snowy Rowles (played by Luke Ford, The Mummy) put Upfield’s fantasy of the perfect murder into practice by killing three men before his book, The Sands of Windee, was released.

Based on a true story, this film explores the complex relationship between violent behaviour and creative responsibility. Upfield was forced to confront his role in the murders and the book became a huge success.

His detective novels “Napoleon ‘Bony’ Bonaparte”, sold in over 40 countries worldwide. The television series BONY was a success in many European countries and the US.
