Surviving Waco
Synopsis
“... just burning and the pain, and pain never stopping until you were burned into nothing, just bones.” So reflects 10-year-old Daniel Martin, who watched on TV as his father and four brothers and sisters perished in the fire that ended the infamous Waco siege of 1993. Eighty people, including 21 children, died as the FBI laid siege to the Branch Davidian religious community in Texas. In this extraordinary film, survivors of the siege relive their apocalyptic experience and shed light on the lure of their charismatic leader, David Koresh.
Dubbed the ‘Sinful Messiah’, Koresh’s hold on his congregation was so strong that, even after the tragic events at Waco, many survivors still pray for his resurrection so that he can lead them once more.
