Synopsis
Steven Berkoff’s unique interpretation of Edgar Allen Poe’s 19th-century horror story

A guilty man is driven mad by the sound of a beating heart in Steven Berkoff’s unique interpretation of Edgar Allen Poe’s 19th-century horror story. Shot on location in the suitably sombre atmosphere of a disused 18th-century synagogue in London, the Man, played by Berkoff, stands accused of a chilling murder. He delivers his account of this brutal and motiveless killing of an old man to a panel comprising a doctor, a magistrate and a stenographer, who must consider his guilt and sanity. Mixing superb acting with spooky lighting and an unsettling soundtrack of that still-beating heart, this is an original and outstanding treat.
