One of the most original and innovative writers of the 20th century

“I need a swig of morphine, can you unscrew the cap?”, asks Dennis Potter in this, his final TV interview. On 5 April 1994, he was interviewed by Melvyn Bragg in what critics hailed as a defining moment in television history. Suffering from terminal cancer, Potter knew he had only a few weeks to live. So, he used the medium he had shaped to give his audience an extraordinary last testament. This programme records Potter’s honest assessment of his work. The result is a frank, amusing, moving and inspiring celebration of human life.
